Lesvos, Winter Holidays

A lot of people think that the summer is the only season to come to Lesvos for a holiday. They are wrong. All seasons round the island is a very nice place to come to. For sure the winter will not be for a beach holiday, although there are some days that you even can lie down on the warm sand or pebbles on a beach.
In the winter the island is itself. Very Greek and still green. The island is full of life because of the harvest of the olives. It is a good time to travel around, to explore tiny villages and drink ouzo with the local inhabitants. It is the time to explore the women cooperations or to go on olive excursion .
Winter is also the best season to make great walks over the island. You have no guarantee that you will have all days sun, but even when it is cloudy, the island looks marvelous. You even may have a change to make walks in the snow, an experience you will not soon forget.
